Illustration of the leave-one-out cross-validation approach for the 2-class problem, depicted as green versus blue. Each unique subject-session pair in our dataset is an "observed sample" that is described by its feature vector. For cross validation, we take one sample out, train the classifier on the remaining samples, classify the excluded sample and record the performance. The process is repeated until all of the observed samples have been tested.
