Each of the three transformed layers is composed of one low-pass subband and three high frequency images. (b) Recombined layers. The view subbands from each layer are grouped into a single image to increase the number of decompositions that can be applied by the spatial transform. In each subband two or more layers may overlap. We apply a separate shape-adaptive 2D DWT to the overlapped pixels.
